DANCE THEATRE

KAM-RI Dance Theatre was founded in 2014 by our Artistic Director Kerieva McCormick.

KAM-RI exists to forge dynamic international creative partnerships and to make Dance Theatre work of the highest level. KAM-RI reflects on borders, inter-cultural competence and exchange, and attaining the standards of excellence achieved by working on a global level with artists of outstanding quality.

The company's launch project, The Typist, began as a durational research project. It became a Dance Theatre production with backing from Creative Scotland, Dance Base National Centre for Dance, and a range of partner theatre venues including the Arches, Glasgow and the Traverse, Edinburgh. It is choreographed by Javier Latorre, one of Spain's top flamenco choreographers, features artists as diverse as Alexei Sayle and Pablo Suarez, and was delivered by a top-flight Scottish creative team including Ben Harrison (Grid Iron) as co-director.

The project continues in the form of a full length soundtrack album featuring musicians from Spain, Brazil and Scotland.

Our current project, KILL ‘EM WITH LOVE - The Fury of Ari Up of The Slits, a captivating piece of dance theatre, directed by Kerieva McCormick and featuring former members of the seminal 70s all- female punk band, is currently in its rehearsal stage (supported by Creative Scotland, Goethe Institute, Dance Base Edinburgh).
